About us

“The Team” on the trip is Chris Mann and Jesus Tirso. We are both moderators on the Digital Wedding Forum, a discussion website for professional wedding and portrait photographers, which is how we got to know each other. Here’s a bit of background about each of us…

Chris Mann

I am from the United Kingdom but now live in the Turks & Caicos Islands, where I work for my brother Andy’s photography and video company, Tropical Imaging. Before moving to Turks & Caicos in early 2003, I had my own computer software training business in England, teaching photo editing, web design, graphics and desktop publishing software to corporate clients. Now however I have much more fun (and enjoy a better lifestyle) shooting stills and video of everything from weddings and portraits commercials to swimsuit model sessions! I also fix the computers occasionally. When not working, I like to watch movies, play the guitar very badly, and go scuba diving (very infrequently, which is tragic considering where I live…)

Hmmm…a road trip.  In the Arizona desert.  In January.  I guess that’s just a bit better than in July!  Anyway, a bit about me.

I live in the Houston, TX, area and am a part time photographer.  My full time work is as a senior program manager for a major computer company and I’m involved in managing several software products related to virtual computing and thin clients.  I like the balance that photography brings to me – balancing the fact-driven, technology focused work with a people-oriented and artistic endeavor.

I am looking forward to this “un-hip” road trip to regain some of the sanity I have lost in the last year.  In my free time – I do nothing!  Oh, that’s not true – I enjoy listening to my extensive music collection.

Now, go read something more interesting!
