Having been back home for a couple of weeks and reimmersed in everyday life, I’ve finally had time to go through all my photos and make a slideshow of my favourites.
Enough said, really – here it is on Vimeo in widescreen HD (opens in a new window). Enjoy!

And so, this chapter in the unhip road trip comes to an end. We will continue to post more unhip trip photos, but they won’t be as exotic as these (except for Chris – T&C is exotic!)

Anyway, once I arrived at the convention I pretty much put the camera to rest except for two times. Even then, I didn’t shoot much – but here are some of what I got. Thanks for being “unhip” with us. To quote two 80’s bands…”it’s hip to be square” (Huey Lewis and The News) and “we’re through being cool” (Devo).

Even though the Road Trip itself is technically over, this is not the end of the road…
Most likely we’ll post a few more pictures when each of us has had time to edit properly, and I have about two hours of video footage to download and knock into shape!
So stop by www.unhiproadtrip.com occasionally if you can – or subscribe to our RSS feed – we’ll have some more stuff for you over the coming weeks…

Our last day was more about traveling south-east to get to the DWF Convention in Carefree – although we did visit a couple of interesting places.
Actually it was more abut the people we met – the tour guide at the Tuzigoot monument and the local in Jerome – than the landscape and locations, though those were fine too. You’ll get to meet these people in the video of our trip… Read the rest of this entry »

So, the fourth and last day from our unhip road trip has come to an end. We are not any hipper – but we did have a good time, saw some very beautiful parts of the country, met some interesting people with great stories, and got some great shots.
Today’s travels started in Sedona early in the morning, we traveled toward Tuzigoot where we had a chance to see some historic ruins. From there we headed to the old mining town of Jerome, to Wickenburg, and to our final destination in Care Free, Arizona. Why does that town name sound so good!
Anyway, here are some images.

So, day three comes to an end. Chris has already explained the route and some of what we saw/did so I won’t bore you with my description. I’ll just bore you with my images.
I guess if you think of Penn & Teller, I’m pulling my best imitation of Teller right about now!

As you can probably tell by now, we are not all that big on sticking to the script… today we were supposed to have been starting from Flagstaff and travelling to Prescott – instead we started in Holbrook and wound up in Sedona – but hey, it’s our trip and we can break the rules!!
Along the way, we visited Winslow, Montezuma’s Castle, Slide Rock State Park, and various locations in and around Sedona. Read the rest of this entry »

So, I drove all day. ALL DAY! My creative energy was drained – that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.
Johnny helped me edit these tonight on my laptop. Johnny as in Johnny Walker Black!
So, enough words (Chris took good care of that) – how about some pics…

We left Globe at around 10am (after a necessary stop at Fry’s supermarket to get bottled water, munchies, and gas for the car) and travel north on US60 in the direction of Snowflake and (eventually) Holbrook.
Originally we had planned to end up in Flagstaff tonight, but we fell short of our target and finished up in Holbrook – read on to find out why…. Read the rest of this entry »

Following on from Jésus’ selection of photos from day one, here are a few of mine.
We traveled from Phoenix out towards the north-east and basically followed the Apache Trail over the mountains to our first night’s stopping place in Globe AZ. Read the rest of this entry »
